DescriptionThe Financial Services Analyst is a key member of the Dean’s Office Financial Affairs team and will use their skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of university practices and organizational policies and procedures to resolve a wide range of issues. They will be expected to demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and will be responsible for various accounting and financial functions including journal entry submissions, account reconciliations, fund management, policy research, and other administrative duties. In addition to supporting the completion of department projects, they will assist in closing activities, variance analysis, and assist with troubleshooting, identifying, and implementing process improvements and maintaining a robust internal control environment.
Salary Range: $68,800.00 - 141,000 Annually
QualificationsRequired:
Strong financial skills and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
Demonstrates skill in analyzing information, problems, procedures, and situations, on a meta-level to define problem or objective, identify relevant concerns/factors, and identify patterns, tendencies, relationships, formulate logical and objective conclusions and recognize and recommend alternatives and their implications.
Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, including the ability to perform complex tasks, utilize advanced features, and efficiently manage large datasets within each program.
Demonstrates skill in collecting and integrating information from a variety of systems and services.
Demonstrates ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, with high degree of accuracy.
Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, staff, parents, outside vendors, campus departments, etc.
Ability to apply independent problem solving, knowing when to request assistance and when independent action is needed.
Demonstrates skills in negotiating and exchanging information to solve problems, make improvements.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
4 - 6 years of experience in Accounting or Purchasing.
Extensive knowledge in UC policies and systems such as Procurement, Travel systems, etc.
