The UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCLA JCCC) is one of only 53 cancer centers in the U.S. designated by the National Cancer Institute for excellence in cancer research, clinical care, and community outreach. Its mission is to advance discoveries that prevent and cure cancer, improve care, and support the community.
As the Facilities Manager, you will oversee the management of approximately 85,000 square feet of space, including labs, core facilities, and offices, across three buildings. Reporting to the Director of Facilities & Strategic Projects, you'll manage a variety of tasks such as lab and office moves, building maintenance, equipment repairs, and vendor relationships. You'll also help monitor project budgets, manage security and safety plans, and perform access audits.
This role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented individual who can juggle multiple projects and deadlines with a strong sense of urgency and reliability. You'll work closely with the Facilities team, including the Facilities Specialist, to ensure smooth operations across the JCCC's facilities.
Salary: $6,845.16 - $10,429.56 monthly
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of one year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and training preferred.
Demonstrated experience in facilities, space, operations management or related field/role.
Demonstrated proficiency in using MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Powerpoint, Visio, etc.).
Demonstrated skill in working as a part of a team and ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, students, visitors, vendors, volunteers, the public, and other units and stakeholders.
Ability to organize and prioritize work within assigned areas of responsibility to ensure deadlines are met.
Excellent time management and coordination skills are essential.
Excel spreadsheet and skills to construct simple financial tables, and intranet and Internet skills to research problems and obtain information.
Math skills sufficient to add columns of figures, calculate percentages, and perform financial analyses.
Ability to analyze general ledgers and reconcile expenses using University ledger systems
Oral and written communication skills to obtain and convey information accurately and clearly.
Demonstrated English writing skills to produce original correspondence, reports, and other documents utilizing correct spelling, grammar, syntax, and punctuation.
Word processing skills to prepare memos, letters, and documents with speed and accuracy.
Ability to use and maintain a variety of office equipment including a computer, photocopiers, fax machines, LCD and overhead projectors, calculators, electric typewriters, LaserJet printers, card readers etc.
Demonstrated ability to organize tasks, set priorities, and work effectively and productively under conditions of a heavy workload and frequent interruptions, distractions,and deadlines. Adaptability is important as the nature of work requires being able to change gears and reprioritize tasks as new issues arise.
Demonstrated ability to work accurately with detail and ability to handle stressful circumstances calmly, effectively, and efficiently.
Demonstrated ability to maintain and update various databases. Physical ability to transport packages and other materials to on- and off-campus sites.
Ability to use various ticket systems (ex. Facilities, IT Services, Bruincard, etc.) to submit requests for issues and services.
