JOB SUMMARY: A Licensed Vocational Nurse who provides patient care and education for patients in the hospital general care units (medical / surgical / pediatrics) units or ambulatory clinics under the direct supervision of the registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, physician assistant, physician, dentist, or podiatrist. Uses the nursing process to ensure physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs are met. Responsible for assisting in the determination of predictable healthcare needs of clients within structured healthcare settings who are experiencing common, well-defined health problems with predictable outcomes. Utilizes a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care. Coordinates care between members of the healthcare team to optimize the patient/client's understanding of their condition and care requirements within the LVN scope of practice.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas.
Work Experience: Experience in area of specialty preferred.

Equipment Operated: Computer, IV Pumps, Vital signs monitor, other unit ' specific medical equipment
