Primary Responsibilities:
An interdisciplinary, outpatient-based pain management program offering a broad spectrum of treatments and procedures
Diagnose and treat pain related to nerves, muscles, and bones including carpal tunnel, neck and back pain, sports and work injuries, herniated discs, arthritis, pinched nerves, and concussions without the use of surgery
Development of pain rehabilitation team coordinating with interventional pain physicians, pharmacists, case managers, addiction specialists, acupuncture/alternative medicine, pain psychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, interventional radiology, etc
Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary pain team to deliver comprehensive pain assessments and treatments, provide consultations to primary care providers and specialists regarding pain management, and provide medical assessment and treatment for patients with chronic cancer pain
Perform basic musculoskeletal assessments and provide recommendations for opioid or non-opioid pharmacologic therapy for patients with chronic pain
C-arms can also be used for pain management and diagnostic imaging procedures, providing real-time visualization of a patient's anatomy during the procedure. We have a technician in the office who assists the physician
Use evidence-based strategies to help manage and/or taper patients on high dose opiate therapy and to prevent member misuse and abuse of controlled substances

Required Qualifications:
Board eligible or certified in Physical Medicine or Anesthesiology
Active and unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain prior to start
1+ years of experience in interdisciplinary management of chronic pain
Proven ability to provide a variety of procedures to include regular joint injections along with facets and epidurals
Proven ability to safely and properly control regular opiate prescriptions
Preferred Qualification:
Fellowship training in Chronic Pain, Occupational Medicine, and/or Addiction Medicine
