Job Summary:
The Department of Neurosurgery at Westchester Medical Center is seeking a board eligible/board certified neurosurgeon with a strong training in both cranial and spine surgery. The candidate would be integral to the further expansion of a rapidly growing academic Neurosurgical department into the western part of our health network. The Department of Neurosurgery has an excellent collaborative relationship with Orthopedics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology, and an integrated Pain Management practice. The department also has significant institutional resources for both inpatient and outpatient growth allocated by hospital administration including a newly constructed outpatient pavilion, ambulatory surgery center, Globus ExcelsiusGPS(tm) robot, Medtronic O-arm spinal navigation system, and Zeiss microscopes. The ideal candidate must possess a strong interest in clinical care, teaching, research, and programmatic development. Subspecialty interests will be strongly supported. Candidates are expected to be able to obtain an active New York medical license.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include maintaining a productive community-based surgical practice in cranial and spinal disease, teaching and mentoring neurosurgical residents, advancing knowledge in the field through publication and best practices in patient care. Pursuit of individual research endeavors will be well-supported.
