Northwell Health includes 23 award-winning hospitals and more than 850 community-based practice locations throughout Long Island, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Westchester. The annual volume of renal pathology cases is approximately 800-850, which includes both adult, pediatric, and allograft biopsies. Among these cases, about 80-90% are native kidney biopsies, while 10-20% are transplant kidney biopsies. This role is supported by a team of 3 immunofluorescence technicians and 2 dedicated electron microscopy technicians.
Eligible candidates should be subspecialty trained in Renal Pathology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a friendly and knowledgeable team of nephrologists, transplant nephrologists, surgeons, and pediatric nephrologists. Excellent communication skills, combined with a strong foundation of knowledge, will be essential for this role.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside trainees at various levels and from diverse specialties, fostering a collaborative learning environment. A strong commitment to education and teaching will be highly valued. Additionally, the renal pathology team collectively leads three monthly conferences, further emphasizing the importance of academic engagement.
