Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences or an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, basic sciences or related field required or completion of Military Laboratory Technician program with relevant experience required.
2. Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience (bachelor's degree) preferred; or minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience (Associate in MLT or related field or Military Lab Technician Training program) required.
3. ASCP or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Evidence of leadership ability
2. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of clinical laboratory processes, analytical procedures, and various laboratory equipment including routine maintenance and calibration.
3. Ability to perform advanced computer skills which would be used in a laboratory setting.
4. Highly effective interpersonal, verbal, and written computer skills are required. Individual must be able to effectively apply these skills to various healthcare environments.
5. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
