About the opportunity:
The Foundation Database Manager is responsible for maintaining and managing the Foundation?s database and keeping current and accurate demographic and gift information on all prospects/benefactors-ensuring the database represents Vail Health?s full knowledge of benefactor/prospect-related activity.
What you will do:
Establish and maintain database integrity by establishing business rules, attributes, and code tables. Conduct regular integrity checks and oversee database functions such as importing and global changes to ensure data accuracy.
Develop and generate routine reports for analysis and distribution, providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
Collaborate with Foundation staff to develop and maintain database-related policies and procedures. Serve as the primary resource for internal staff and external organizations regarding gift analysis, data entry processes, and database integrity guidelines.
Oversee gift analysis and entry processes within the Foundation, including collecting, evaluating, and processing all donations received. Ensure timely and accurate processing of gifts, campaign analysis, acknowledgment letters, and gift receipts in adherence to organizational policies.
Coordinate online giving initiatives for the Foundation.
Manage benefactor lists for publications, recognition, and solicitations.
Ensure all gifts are committed and reported to the Finance Office for inclusion in the General Ledger, and prepare regular gift reports for Foundation staff to facilitate acknowledgment and recognition processes.
Manage the monthly pledge reminder process by maintaining accurate records and distributing reminders in alignment with established plans.
Analyze and review large volumes of data. Performs all duties in attention to detail and maintain organization with their work.
Communicate and collaborates in a professional manner.
Oversee the matching gift program by tracking, verifying, and documenting all matching gifts in collaboration with corporate and foundation partners.

What you will need:
Experience:
3 years experience in database management, preferably within a nonprofit or foundation environment is required.
3 years experience with database software systems and experience with data entry and maintenance is required.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and verify large volumes of data.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
2 years of working with financial tracking and reporting processes.
1 year experience with donor database systems and fundraising software (Raiser?s Edge or Salesforce) is preferred.
