Job Summary:
Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department.
Perform high quality images and exams on patients while maintaining the sensitivity to patient needs.
Demonstrates leadership abilities and is a role model for other associate technologists.
Acts as a clinical resource to unit personnel and assures current standards of practice for the unit.
Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to, abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retroperitoneal, small parts and vascular. May perform cardiac procedures as required by entity.
Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable"(ALARA).* Produces quality images in a complete, accurate and timelymanner.
Performs IV starts and contrast administration as required.
Correctly inputs charges and required data for procedures and for supplies utilized during the procedure/exam.
Prepares patient for exam. Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
This is a PRN position (5 shifts scheduled in a 6-week period). This position is used to cover call-offs, vacations, and where coverage may be needed. PRN is not eligible for benefits but does offer a 15% differential on top of the base rate of pay.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
HS Diploma or GED required
ARDMS - registered required RDMS(OB/GYN) or (AB) or (BR);
or ARRT registered R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(S)(BS)(ARRT) or ARDMS registered RVT(VT) with OB or ABD required within 1 year or hire, or ARRT registered - R.T.(S)(VS)(ARRT)
or ARDMS registered RDCS(AE) or (PE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required
Physical Requirements-Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly
