We are seeking a psychologist to join our growing psychology team. This position is administratively housed in the Division of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and services are provided in the NeuroDevelopmental Science Center, which includes Neurology, Neurosurgery, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, and Physiatry. Opportunities to develop interdisciplinary clinical programs for youth with Tic/Tourette Syndrome and with cardiology/neurocardiology conditions are available. We are willing to provide training related to these specific patient populations for a well-qualified candidate. This position will offer an opportunity to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team providing care for patients with complex medical and neurodevelopmental conditions.
This position offers excellent opportunities to participate in training and research, based on candidate?s interest. Faculty at Akron Children?s Hospital are active in the training of psychology and neuropsychology fellows, psychology practicum students, as well as medical residents and fellows. Research opportunities are abundant for faculty with interest.
Requirements: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in child clinical psychology/pediatric psychology/counseling including completion of an internship in an APA/CPA-accredited child psychology/pediatric psychology program, eligibility for licensure in Ohio, and completion of a formal fellowship/postdoctoral program are required. Experience with medical populations is preferred. Board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
This position is a 501(c)(3) site which qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through the Federal government.
