Registered Nurse IV-Patient Engagement Center- My Chart-Hybrid in NC-M-F, 8am-5pm, FT
The Registered Nurse in the Duke Primary Care Engagement Center will use various communication platforms, including but not limited to, telephonic communication and remote patient messaging to facilitates patient's access to care. The Medical Assistant also performs administrative and patient care supportive duties under the direction of a licensed nurse.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Schedules appointments, routes messages in EPIC assists with mediation refills, and performs other duties as needed.
Acts as a patient advocate for patients and patient needs
Responds to patient requests for provider referral and / or health information.
Report obtained medical information from patients and referring physicians accurately, completely and timely.
Disseminate messages according to Duke Primary Care communication standard work.
Demonstrates a positive, concerned, and sensitive response in the work environment
Interacts with patients, providers, community services and all personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
Demonstrates respect for individual, cultural, and social differences.
Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients, providers, co-workers.
Demonstrates ability to thrive in a high-paced environment and a positive champion for change
Acts as a patient advocate by resolution of problems or communication of patient needs and concerns to appropriate resources.
Able to identify when collaboration when the RN is necessary to achieve the full resolution of the patient's issue.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program.
Exception
Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within five years of their start date.
Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications-Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
