Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas. Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and vacuums. Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required. Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupant following isolation procedures as appropriate.

Responsible for the direction and training of assigned housekeeping technicians in environmental services.
Personally inspects daily all housekeeping cleaning activities and processes to insure responsiveness, quality, effectiveness and efficiency.
Adapts work area and function coverage as required by workload and changes in volume or service demands.
Trains and monitors all housekeeping technicians activities to insure high quality service and high patient satisfaction.
Appropriately adapts assigned assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each member served.
Demonstrates competence to perform assigned responsibilities in a manner that meets
age-specific and developmental needs of the members served by the department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education/Skills
High School diploma or equivalent.
Performs related responsibilities as assigned.
Experience
Environmental Services experience in an acute care facility preferred.
Related custodial experience
Knowledge of safe storage and handling of chemicals; cleaning processes.
Cleaning skill required to perform satisfactorily in an acute care setting.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
American Heart ?Basic Life Support (BLS)within 30 days of hire.
