Under limited supervision interprets inventory data for adverse trends in an effort to reduce supply costs and increase efficiencies. Works aggressively with prime vendor to provide reports and metrics on utilization to control and manage spend. Identifies and tracks usage for high spend areas. Conducts supply room stock level analysis and reports negative trends to management for further scrutiny and makes recommendations for improvement. Assists with coordinating the initial outfitting for new and transition areas. Solicits key information from Facilities department in support of construction projects and internal transitions. Manages suspense dates, deadlines and diagnoses business needs. Conducts other inventory related duties as required. Fulfillment of job duties requires the employee to have access to medication storage areas and to transport medications to/ from medication storage and delivery areas.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Utilizes Materials Management Information System (MMIS) and prime vendor software to conduct data collection while creating optimal PAR location support.
2. Performs inventory management functions in support of distribution center operations, to include performing physical counts, generating/placing orders, product put-away and stocking location maintenance, including organization and corresponding data file maintenance.
3. Collects and maintains all documentation for purchase order audits, charge label audits and customer surveys.
4. Manages implementation projects and diagnoses business needs. Collaborates with Facilities on supply room setup activation dates. Communicates needs to customers and prime vendor management.
5. Keeps management abreast of short, mid and long term hospital plans in support of unit transitions and start ups through attendance of Facility activation/transition meetings.
6. Maintains various electronic files. Generates data and reports for customers and project team members.
7. Assists with developing and maintaining monthly metrics identifying top high spend cost centers. Reports opportunities to communicate status of programs or projects to Nursing and project team members. Provides recommendations to department head for inclusion of supply efficiency strategies.
8. Performs recommended back-up procedures or electronic files to ensure project or programs are properly maintained.
9. Assists management with various Logistics projects such as gathering customer usage data, product sizing and storeroom slotting.
10. Distributes, manages Nursing customer satisfaction surveys, tabulates surveys and supply audit sheets.
11. Provides training updates to Materials Management team on inventory storeroom related activity to ensure standardization of department processes related to inventory control.
12. Educates Nursing and makes strong recommendations on product utilization strategies.
13. Works in the capacity of Senior Inventory Analyst for short durations of absence.
