The Production Specialist performs functions necessary to assist the milk bank in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective donor human milk services. Utilizes requisite equipment, aseptic technique, donor milk processing supplies and computer systems as appropriate for the procurement, receipt, preparation/milk processing and/or dispensation of donor human milk. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the milk bank, equipment, and supplies. Assists in training new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Must achieve required technical skills as mandated by milk bank accrediting body (Human Milk Banking Association of North America). Operates the human milk analyzer and provides oversight for all human milk nutritional analysis processes. Provides coaching and technical guidance to staff, including supporting onboarding activities. Assists with the competency assessments of assigned staff, supporting their development and growth. Assists department leadership with the daily operations of the department and train and develop new and existing team members on role specific best practices.
