Occ Summary
This individual performs, under supervis ion, avariety of duties inaccordance to department procedures, which may berelated to theprocurement, preparation, distribution and storage of d rugs, as well as,provision of clinical pharmacy services according to th ePharmacy's rolein ensuring safe medication use.Individuals eligible for pharmacy technician III are competent in alltasks associated with pharma cytechnician level I and pharmacytechnician level II. Pharmacy technici an III staff must achieve andmaintain certification by the Pharmacy Tech nician Certification Board.The pharmacy technician III coordinates techn ician staff and activitiesand/or is responsible for specific advanced du ties(e.g., AutomatedDispensing Cabinet, Sterile Preparation QA Specialis t,MedicationInspection Specialist and Procurement Specialist).

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Pharmacy Tech 1 or or or or High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program. Acceptance into pharmacy school. High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience. Pharmacy Tech II High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program. Acceptance into pharmacy school. High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience.

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Pharmacy Tech 1 Must be registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within the first 180 days. Pharmacy Tech II North Carolina Boardof Pharmacy registration is required. Pharmacy Technician certification is required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or The Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
