We are seeking a Provider Support Assistant to be responsible for performing a range of administrative duties to support one or more physician(s) and/or advanced practice provider(s). This role is critical in delivering high-quality administrative and clerical support to ensure the accurate maintenance of legal patient records and documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Additional responsibilities include: managing internal communications, coordinating schedules and meetings, organizing departmental events, and executing special projects that contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the department. This is an in person position and will require some travel between various department sites.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
RecordManagement and Retention: Prepare, scan, file, and organize essential legal and departmental documents, ensuring compliance with retention policies and easy access to relevant records.
ProfessionalCommunication: Establish and maintain effective communication with the Public Defender, Clerk of Court, and other key members of the court system to ensure smooth coordination.
Officeand Supply Maintenance: Manage and order office and medical supplies to keep provider suites fully stocked, organized, and operational.
AdministrativeSupport: Perform clerical and typing tasks, including processing office materials such as form letters, requisitions, memoranda, reports, and summaries.
PhysicianAssistance: Assist physicians with preparing reports, entering data into health system platforms, and handling other administrative needs.
ServiceCoordination: Facilitate coordination of services across multiple Duke Health locations, departments, and providers to ensure streamlined operations.
CalendarManagement: Maintain and manage physicians' calendars, including scheduling and coordinating meetings and appointments.
TeamCollaboration: Provide cross-coverage and collaborative support to a multifunctional team, ensuring efficient workflow and continuity of operations.
Other related duties as assigned: The Provider Support Assistant will be assigned and actively engaged in assisting with a wide range of departmental tasks.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent education required.
One-year experience of clerical or general office support required.
JOB HOURS
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
