The role you’ll contribute:Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The job of a Development Officer III (DO3) is to plan and carry out Identify, Engage and Cultivation activities, so as to maintain and develop the donation of funds and gifts for AdventHealth programs. This position will focus on hospital visits, initial telephone calls to secure appointments and Identify and Engage Stage Core Process prospect meetings. This position will prepare moves plans and coordinate Cultivation and Solicitation Stage activities for gifts targeted at less than $100,000 (your total team may be responsible for a larger metric, but the DO3 will act as a closer for gifts targeted at less than $100,000, but as a team, will remain responsible to assist in raising the goal set). This will be in accordance with specified annual fundraising goals set forth by the AdventHealth Central Florida Foundation.

·Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth Orlando’s service standards.
·Follow the Foundation’s Major Gift Core Process to Identify, Engage, Cultivate, Solicit and Steward a donor portfolio that includes, individuals (major gift donors and grateful patients), corporations, physicians, staff, and administrators.
·Focus on Core Process and soliciting gifts of $25,000 to $500,000 independently. Seek guidance from VP level supervisor in developing solicitation strategy. Model Core Process for DO1 and DO2 levels.
·Meet or exceed visit metrics of 6 to 8 face-to-face visits per week, 24-32 visits per month, and 240-320 visits per year in order to help achieve the Major Gift fundraising goal for the beneficiary.
·Use the Major Gifts Core Process to manage a portfolio of 120 or more prospect and solicit 20 to 24 Major Gifts per year to meet fundraising goals of $500,000 annually. Bequest/Planned Gift options will be explored with all Major Gifts Donors of age 55 and above as part of the process.
·Ensure monthly solicitations by creating a balanced portfolio with sufficient prospects at the Identify, Engage, Cultivate, Solicit and Stewardship stages of the Core Process to achieve solicitation goals over a multi-year period.
·Manage Board / Administrator meetings to communicate a clear message that is compelling and aligned with the Mission/Vision of the beneficiary/Hospital priorities by engaging Hospital Leadership, Physicians, Nurses, Board Members and volunteers.
·Document all visits, solicits and moves within the Core Process in Raiser’s Edge for monthly reporting and tracking.
·Participate in active Pipeline Development activities that help engage potential donors in the life of the organization and will ensure growing a strong portfolio and a long term, sustainable pipeline of potential donors. These include but are not limited to: Board Member Referrals, Existing Donor Referrals, Point Of Entry, FH Foundation Events (Gala, Gourmet and Golf), Planned Giving Forums, Administrator Presentations, Meet the Physician Events, Grateful Patient Events and Grateful Patient Leads from Donor Relations.
·Work with the 1908 Employee Giving staff and Annual Fund staff to grow participation rates for both programs in respective beneficiary/ies in order to fund defined priorities using tools, such as Social Media Platform as well as other Annual Fund techniques to drive giving to the beneficiary.
·Maintain most current knowledge and skills relevant to the fundraising profession.

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
REQUIRED:
·Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business, communications or social science), or 4-6 years’ experience as a Development Officer in a regional or national organization with an active major gifts program that is part of an overall development effort or four years of successful experience in sales/marketing with a proven track record.
·In-depth knowledge of the Central Florida region, corporate and civic community, or a proven track record of successful territory development in a major market.
·A self-starter with the initiative to manage up to 120 major gift prospects and donors, and coordinate with other Foundation managers to ensure total coverage of the donor/prospect base.
·Experience in major gift with a track record of raising greater than $500,000 in a twelve-month period.
·Experience in capital or “special campaigns” with a track record of raising $500,000 in a twelve-month period.
·Experience in volunteer or professional fundraising
PREFERRED:
·Ability to speak and write in additional languages
·Passion for beneficiary via volunteer work
·Five or more years as a Development Officer at AdventHealth Orlando or other Hospital System
·Master’s Degree
·Three to Five years in Beneficiary Fundraising area of focus (Children’s, Cancer, Diabetes, etc…)
