Overview
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Facilities Engineering maintains 6 million square foot of facilities dedicated to clinical and academic functions. Facilities Engineering is comprised of 150 professionals, including engineers, MEP mechanics, building finishes and support staff. Role Purpose
Providing Maintenance and Engineering services. Provides superior level of customer service, technical skills, product knowledge and leadership to maintain the Carpentry Shop systems. Assists the Carpenter Supervisor and work with employees as a team on assignments, tasks, preventative maintenance and the purchasing of shop supplies. Performs all duties and responsibilities and have the same principle accountabilities, training, education, experience and physical demands as those of the senior level craft person of the assigned shop.
Responsibilities
Assigns duties, schedules and inspects completed work under the direction of the Supervisor to ensure finished work meets department guidelines and is complaint with all applicable codes.
Accomplishes the most difficult repairs and overhauls on any of the carpentry related equipment and structures within the system.
Completes, plans, organizes and determines methods and materials that will be used on assigned tasks and projects.
Coordinates construction projects so they are completed on schedule and within budget. Estimates and coordinates projects that will include the use of outside contractors.
Uses personal protective equipment and adheres to regulatory guidelines.
