The Field Service Engineer II fixes, maintains, tests, and calibrates complex diagnostic imaging equipment/systems to ensure its safe and proper operation. Maximizes patient safety by implementing the proper use, application and operational performance of patient care equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Performs scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) according to hospital policies, procedures and industry-recognized standards, using specialized test equipment, tools, and simulation devices.
Maintains, services, troubleshoots and calibrates a variety of complex diagnostic imaging systems by using manufacturer service manuals, schematic diagrams, and vendor expertise. Identifies the most prudent means of fix based on clinical need and cost.
Documents all service events, performance tests and corrective maintenance according to department policy, using computerized maintenance management software applications and other standard office software applications.
Accountable for ordering repair parts, timely return of applicable repair parts, and timely submission of applicable order-related documentation.
Helps with assigned projects, related to the installation, relocation, and disposal of medical imaging equipment/systems.
Has effective communication with customer(s) using various communication tools, to establish rapport with staff and to keep clinical staff and appropriate clinical management informed of the status of repairs.
Communicates and works in conjunction with imaging equipment service providers to facilitate efficient equipment installs and fixes.
Recommends improvements to PM schedule frequency, testing procedures and/or documentation forms. Participates in and/or helps with development of departmental and hospital-based continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Able to travel to other Baylor Scott & White facilities on a consistent basis to help with scheduled and unscheduled service activities.

Able to effectively self-manage time and assigned projects.
Must have the physical ability to raise and move material weighing up to 40 pounds.
Exceptional knowledge of computer systems and networking.
