Position Summary
Join our team at Phoenix Children’s Hospital! We’re seeking a Pharmacy Technician for our Outpatient Pharmacy at the main hospital in downtown Phoenix. This is a variable shift position with a 5x8 schedule, including rotating weekends. While retail experience is preferred, it is not required. A sign-on bonus is available! This position, under the supervision of a Pharmacist, assists in the procurement, storage, preparation, distribution, and delivery of medications, information, and other pharmaceutical products to Phoenix Children’s patients. Duties are performed in accordance with all applicable Arizona Board of Pharmacy statutes and rules and department policies and procedures. This position reports directly to the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager. This position also receives supervision from Clinical Pharmacists, Lead Pharmacists and Lead Pharmacy Technicians. This position does not supervise any other positions.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent. (Required)
Experience
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or outpatient pharmacy setting. (Preferred)
Certifications
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Arizona. (Required)
- Nationally Certified by PTCB or NHA (National Healthcareer Association) (Required)
Special Skills
- Experience with pharmacy information software and POS systems. (Preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative and effective working relationships with all members of the pharmacy and patient care team. (Required)
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. (Required)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet assigned goals. (Required)
- Demonstrated excellence in provision of customer service. (Required)
- Bilingual in English/Spanish - Preferred but NOT required. (Preferred)
