Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
Northwell Health’s Department of Behavioral Health is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our Behavioral Health team in Westchester. We are recruiting for two highly motivated Practitioners who will lead our Child & Adolescent Ambulatory Practice and our School mental Health Partnership’s Behavioral Health Center.
This is a truly unique opportunity as Northwell Health is launching a brand new comprehensive behavioral health program to expand access to care for children and adolescents in the Northern Westchester region – an area that currently has limited mental health resources. The program will include partnerships with local schools and community organizations, a new behavioral health center to provide short-term and crisis care, a psychiatric outpatient practice, patient navigation, family support and ultimately, intensive outpatient services. Northwell has a similar program in Long Island that has helped reduce emergency room referrals by partnering schools by an average of 60%.
By the summer of 2025, this stand-alone facility will open in Mount Kisco and will be supported by both Northern Westchester Hospital and the Northwell School Mental Health Partnership program. Over the coming years we will also be introducing intensive outpatient programming to support young people in need of a higher level of care.
Additionally, Northwell has committed to investing $500 million over the next several years to expand pediatric and adolescent behavioral health services across its network, including the construction of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Pavilion connected to both Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Zucker Hillside Hospital, the health system’s academic behavioral health facility. Come be part of our expanding network and mission of creating more mental health access and care for kids and their families!
Benefits at Northwell Health include:
Nationally competitive salaries
Comprehensive benefits package
Four weeks’ vacation plus paid conference/CME time
Academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell
