About the opportunity:
The Jack?s Place concierge role is a unique position that provides hospitality support to Shaw patients and guests staying at Jack?s Place. The Concierge lives on site in order to provide on-call support for guests, oversight of routine maintenance and repairs, plans and hosts guest activities to enhance patient experience, and is an active and engaged member of the Spirit of Survival team.
What you will do:
Promotes an atmosphere of warmth, compassion and understanding amongst patients, their families, and team members. Demonstrates empathy and the ability to relate to and connect with others, especially those experiencing serious health concerns.
Lives in on-site housing unit; answers on-call requests Monday-Thursday 9pm-8am as needed; works Monday-Thursday from 4pm-9pm.
Be available onsite to respond to emergency situations or other urgent circumstances through activating emergency services and/or care coordination with medical team at Shaw if necessary. This requires no advanced medical skills or knowledge.
Is an engaged & active member of the Spirit of Survival team. This includes attending monthly meetings, participation in event planning, coordinating, and hosting events as needed.
Oversees the safe operation of Jack?s Place. Enforces rules and disciplinary action when necessary, in a timely fashion while following Vail Health?s principles of Just Culture.
Handles light spot cleaning of units or house as needed. Conduct room assessments as needed. Notify housekeeping of housekeeping needs. Notify facilities of maintenance needs, safety reporting as needed.
Check guests in/out, orient guests, explain policies and services. Answers and manages referral calls for reservations, confirms room availability and manages the waiting list.
Coordinates, schedules and supervises in-house programs and events, such as survivorship services on a weekly and monthly basis.
Assist with office administration duties including filing, correspondence, handling the processing of donations, and special events at Shaw Cancer Center as needed.
Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
