Schedule: Full Time
Shift: 7pm-7am with every other weekend.
Location: Covering our Orlando Inpatient Unit (Rollins Campus) but must be willing to cover the Altamonte Springs and Kissimmee IPUs if needed.
The role you’ll contribute:
The IPU LPN is responsible for identifying patient/family/caregiver needs and providing skilled nursing and supportive care to patients in residence at the Hospice Inpatient Unit in accordance with the plan of care, and policies and procedures.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Provides patient care in a home like setting in the IPU.(70%)
Provides skilled nursing care to an assigned group of patients in the Inpatient Unit and applies palliative nursing principles and techniques in the treatment of patients.
Ensures that patient is as comfortable as possible and provides nursing care, emotional support and education to the patient/family/caregiver.
Assesses patient condition and reports change to RN. Administers medications to patients within the patient care plan and physician’s plan of treatment in compliances with the Florida Nurses Practices Act.
Answers patient’s call bell in a timely manner.
Orders medications for assigned patients.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited nursing school program is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Administrator.
3 years nursing experience in a Hospital, Inpatient Unit or nursing facility environment is required.
LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure A clear/active Florida License
BCLS - Basic Life Support
• Maintain a current, valid Florida Driver's License in good standing with a safe driving record and a reliable vehicle. • Maintain valid personal automobile insurance
Preferred qualifications:
Hospice experience
CHPN - Certified Hospice And Palliative Nurse
