Required:

• Ability to push, pull, lift and carry loads up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of times
• Strong understanding of alphabetic and numeric filing systems
• Ability to safely use a variety of duplication and fax equipment
• Written and spoken English skills sufficient to communicate effectively with persons from a wide range of social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
• Skill in reading Standard English text to follow instructions, memos, and understand physician schedules and requests.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, completing tasks in an environment with frequent interruptions and varying workloads.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, physicians, and patients.
• Ability to enter and maintain accurate patient appointments and schedules utilizing an on-line complete data base system.
• Typing skills to prepare forms, manuscripts, and correspondence with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and the public in a high-volume public setting.
• Ability to perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
• Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
• Ability to prioritize workload.
• Skill in speaking clearly and using appropriate grammar.
• Ability to accept direction from supervisors.

Preferred:

• Preferred Knowledge of medical terminology.
