The role you’ll contribute:
Employee are hired to complete 6-week medical assistant program and will be required to pass NHA exam. This is a partnership with Blue Ridge Community College. This course is designed to teach the basics of the three aspects of Medical Assisting: Clinical, Administrative and Laboratory. Course work includes instruction in scheduling appointments, insurance coding and billing, medical transcription, assisting with examinations/treatments, performing routine laboratory procedures and ethical and legal issues. Upon successful completion of the course, students are required to pass the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Exam. Blue Ridge Community College is an approved NHA test site. Failure to complete the course per Blue Ridge Community College requirements for whatever reason and/or if they do not pass the completion exam successfully their employment with AdventHealth will be terminated.

Provide patient care in the office setting.
Provide care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care.
Provide care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician.
Maintain regulatory requirements, nursing and office policies, procedures and standards.
Ability to assist nursing and medical staff with routine examinations and patient treatments. This includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.

Minimum qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Required
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
