The role you’ll contribute:
Responsible for performing quality audits regarding coding functions for the facilities of: Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center (FHMMC), Florida Hospital Oceanside (FHO), Florida Hospital Deland (FHD), and Florida Hospital Flagler (FHF). Identifies individuals and develops educational action plans in collaboration with the Coding Manager in order to assure accuracy for inpatient and outpatient coding. Facilitates and coordinates the monitoring of external coding audits to include RAC, Blue Cross, Humana, and other payer groups or regulated review agencies. Performs statistical analysis regarding Case Mix; monitors and reports findings to the Coding Manager and HIM Director. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan; to the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies; and to the standards of all accrediting bodies.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Responsible for logging all requests received by CMS regarding the Recovery Audit Contract program. Reviews charts and prepares spreadsheet for logging specific information regarding RAC activity. Submits information for the Finance Committee for the status of this activity.
- Responsible for coordination of outside auditors for the purpose of coding audits.
- Responsible for the reviewing outcome of audits; prepares and submits appeals as appropriate.
- Performs quality audits on coding functions; audits are to include OIG listed DRGs, accounts without CCs. Performs random chart sampling per Coder.
- Prepares monthly reports of quality reviews of the Coding staff for submission to the HIM Director and Coding Manager.
