APHA 2025 — Making the Public's Health a National Priority

Life expectancies have been declining since before the COVID-19 pandemic exposed the need to prioritize public health. Research has shown that public health efforts to prevent disease are more cost effective - and humane - than treating chronic health conditions, so now is the time to invest in our nationâ€™s health. We need to prepare for the next pandemic, improve data collection to track and analyze diseases, conduct research on effective prevention and treatment methods and enact policies that promote better health for all people in all communities. Health is a human right; letâ€™s make it a national priority.

Certified Surgical Technologist - Surgical Services

DescriptionSummary:Performs a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. Prepares patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards. Maintains aseptic techniques; actively monitors situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. Provides comfort and support for pre-operative patients by demonstrating sensitivity to patient care and privacy. Transports patients to and from the Operating Room suite. Positions patients according to the type of surgery. Identifies and cares for biological specimens. Prepares the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to type of case.Responsibilities:Meets expectations of the applicable
