This
is a per diem intraoperative monitoring/EEG technologist position in the
Clinical Neurophysiology Department located at the UCLA Medical Center. It is expected that the individual be capable of independently
performing intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, including SSEP, MEP,
EMG/tEMG for cranial nerve and peripheral spinal nerve monitoring, BAER, EEG,
direct cortical stimulation, etc., in cranial and spinal cord cases, as well as
cardiovascular cases.
It
is preferred that the candidate can perform routine, continuous and ICU EEG
setup, with minimal supervision, or will be trained in performing EEG after
employment. The technologist should maintain knowledge of principles of
electricity, electronics, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology and neurological
diseases. Artifact detection/trouble shooting should be adequate.
The
normal working hours are regular weekdays, with on calls of nights and weekends
on rotation basis. This position may require you to rotate to other and our future UCLA sites as well.
