UTHealth Houston School of Public Health seeks applicants for multiple full-time faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level with expertise in social and structural determinants of health (e.g. food and nutrition security). Eligible candidates may be public health researchers or clinician scientists with training and expertise in one of the following areas related to social and structural determinants of health: • Epidemiology • Health disparities • Health services research • Dissemination and implementation science • Addressing psychosocial, behavioral, systemic, and environmental risk and protective factors (i.e. intervention studies) Depending on qualifications, the candidate will have a primary appointment in one of the five departments (Epidemiology, Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences, Management, Policy & Community Health, or Biostatistics & Data Science) at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health. Successful applicants will have affiliation with the Center for Health Equity and be located at the Houston location. Provide educational leadership, including classroom teaching and mentoring to graduate students. 2. Have a track record of research publications commensurate with academic rank and demonstrated potential for securing external funding. 3. Develop and implement research related to community, clinical health, and/or population health initiatives in diverse populations related social and structural determinants of health, specifically food and nutrition security. 4. Contribute protocols and outcome metrics to community health and clinical sites and work collaboratively with UTHealth SPH faculty and Center for Health Equity colleagues to submit research proposals for external funding.
Qualifications: A successful applicant for this position must have a Ph.D. or Dr.PH. in public health, epidemiology, economics, sociology, anthropology or a related field; or an M.D. with an accompanying public health graduate degree and 5+ years of research experience in public health or related areas.
