Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a Pathology Support Specialist who will provide administrative support for the pathologists' clinical workflows and review of pathology cases. Do you have an interest in science and medicine? We want you to join our team!

Role Overview:

• Provide operational support for pathologists and fellows and manage pathology cases from the point of preliminary case review to reporting of final results
• Navigate clinical systems to collect relevant patient medical history required for pathologist diagnosis and work-up
• Work with internal pathologists to follow up with internal and external health care team members
• Extract and incorporate relevant clinical, morphologic, and laboratory findings from previous patient reports
• Communicate, work and respond effectively and professionally

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in the sciences or Public Health, OR four years of job-related experience working in a medical or laboratory setting
• Microsoft Office Suite expertise; familiarity with databases and strong digital literacy

• Passionate for providing excellent patient care with a curiosity about science and medicine
• Dedicated to providing outstanding service, producing quality work products, and maintaining an atmosphere of partnership and continuous improvement
• Able to work effectively in an energizing environment, prioritize tasks, and respond to changing priorities
• Capable of performing clerical tasks with a high degree of accuracy and setting priorities to see projects through completion
• An independent worker who is also a collaborative team member

Additional Information:

• Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm
• Training onsite, Monday - Friday, 3-6 months. Possibility of 1 work from home day after training.
• Location: 1275 York Avenue in NYC
• Reporting to: Manager, Hospital Operations

Pay Range: $25.65-$38.42
