The role you’ll contribute:
The Cardiovascular Invasive Laboratory Specialist IV (CILS IV) performs a wide range of technical skills, which are utilized during a variety of complex Cardiac interventional, Complex diagnostic/interventional Electrophysiology, or Interventional Radiology procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients. The CILS IV is proficient in all aspects of angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation and monitoring consistent with the policies, procedures and processes of the Cardiovascular Services department and Hospital Administration. Adheres to the guidelines and standards of professional practice associations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Lead the Employees – Has a working knowledge of performance expectations for all employees on the unit.
oMonitors performance of the staff and report’s findings to the nurse manager or takes corrective action for improvement as appropriate. Uses independent judgment to make recommendations to supervisor/manager regarding:
oActively participates in the interview process / application selection.
oThe reassignment of employees for the betterment of patient care delivery.
oCoaching or other discipline (after consultation with HR and/or NM) for work Infractions, performance deficiencies and conduct violations by exercising supervisory authority.
oPeriodic evaluations of supervised employees.
oThe assignment of employees to particular duties or activities or to authorize and assign overtime to employees where appropriate.
oThe adjustment/resolution of complaints, concerns, and problems of supervised employees regarding work assignments, hours of work overtime scheduling, and other work-related matters.
oLeads the employees in a manner which develops the employee to their optimal level of performance.
oMentors and coaches employees on a continual basis in order to assure competency in care delivery.Develops staff preceptors and mentors.

oAssures workplace safety for the employees and demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements for workplace safety, i.e., CMS, OSHA, Joint Commission, etc.
oIs supportive of Process Improvement Initiatives by sponsoring and/or participating in the activities.
oEnsures that practice changes, as a result of performance improvement activities, are implemented.
oSupports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.

oIs involved in unit-department based budgeting and support of the budget. Maintains staffing and scheduling, and resource utilization within budgeted targets for the unit.
oCollaborates with peers and staffing coordinator/nursing supervisor regarding distribution of personnel throughout nursing departments.
oFosters patient, family, staff, and physician satisfaction.Understands the impact of dissatisfaction on the business goals of the unit.

oAssumes the role of a staff nurse and is responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within a patient care unit and for the day-to-day management and supervision of the related clinical activities.
oIs responsible for supervising and responsibly directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing personnel utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Uses the nursing skills of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in their patient care delivery.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·Associate or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited school required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
·Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
