·Provide wholistic care for patients that extends to the spiritual level by praying with patients and families. Chaplains are available to meet with patients, families and team members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide spiritual support.
·Help develop a brand new $150 million community hospital and medical office building that will provide services such as Emergency Services, Medical/Surgical, ICU, Women’s Services, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Interventional Cardiology and Gastroenterology.

The role you’ll contribute:
Perform general clerical duties, observe the telemetry monitors for a designated time frame, and specific non-professional services under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse/RN, to expedite the efficient function of the nursing unit consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and hospital administration.Operate the call light system and recognize emergency alarms.Must be able to recognize and document basic arrhythmias and respond appropriately. Must be able to perform a variety of specific patient care activities, consistent with goals, philosophy, standards and guidelines of the nursing department and the hospital.

·Answers telephone and patient calls
·Notifies Charge Nurse/RN of pending admissions; notifies nurse of patient's arrival on unit or return to room from surgery/procedure with no more than three (3) documented variances, as observed by Charge Nurse/RN.
·Prepares charts for new admissions.Prepares charts for medical records following patient dismissal.
·Labels charts and door with appropriate identification, allergy information and other pertinent information.
·Keeps patient activity board updated on a consistent basis as observed by Charge Nurse/RN.
·Accurately posts all admissions, transfers and discharges on activity boards and desk calendars each shift on a consistent basis, as observed by Charge Nurse/RN.
·Assists physicians in locating charts, reports and equipment; notifies Charge Nurse/RN of physicians' arrival on unit on a consistent basis.
·Ensures that all patient charts are supplied with additional needed stamped forms to be used during next shift to always have appropriate forms available for documentation by nurses and physicians.
·Checks, orders and distributes supplies and forms, according to unit policy, to maintain necessary supply without stock piling, as observed by Charge Nurse/RN
·Updates patient whiteboard during bedside shift report and continually throughout shift.
·Responds to call lights and bed alarms with urgency to ensure patient safety.
·Charts care of patient in patient medical record: vital signs, baths, I&O, weights, activity, etc.
·Keeps Charge nurse/RN informed of abnormal vital signs, abnormal glucose levels, or any changes in patient noted when care is provided.
·Performs blood glucose checks on patients according to policy.
·Passes water to patients twice a shift and as needed.
·Stocks gloves, empties trash in patient rooms, picks up linen in patient rooms.
·Prepares empty/clean rooms for next patient
·Picks up meal trays and documents intake in patient medical record.
·Assists in maintaining suicide precautions through appropriate observation, documentation, and reporting to Charge Nurse/RN.
·Participates in teamwork to contribute to the efficient operation of the unit.
·Adapts and responds positively when unexpected changes occur in staffing or workload.
·Remains in assigned work area and/or keeps Charge Nurse/RN informed of whereabouts throughout the assigned shift at all times.
·Assists with unit errands when requested.Volunteers for errands and additional duties when available to do so.
·Performs all other duties as assigned.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
·High School Diploma or Equivalent
·Current Texas Certified Nurse’s Aide OR
·Graduate of an approved Hospital specific PCT Training Program (i.e. THR/THH or Center For Learning Program) OR
·Nursing student who has completed fundamentals within the past 2 years OR
·Completed foreign nurse degree program OR
·Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) OR
·1 year of applicable PCT/EMT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification
