The incumbent in the Non-Invasive Cardiodiagnostics area performs Echo testing on both inpatients and outpatients using an age appropriate method.Is available for on-call duties for testing needed on an emergent basis.
Duties include but are not limited to:
·Act as a resource to the interdisciplinary team in the event of an emergency situation involving the patient
·Complete 2-D, M-mode, doppler color flow and stress echo testing according to appropriate protocols
·Interpret and provide preliminary findings; describe findings and compose report as appropriate
·Modifies protocol based on diagnosis or indication for the test, taking into account the complexity of the heart defect
·Perform echo studies on patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis in a timely and efficient manner
·Perform image selection and image archiving using the department equipment resources
·Provides age appropriate assessment and interventions in order to meet the needs of patients and families served
·Recognize and report clinically significant test results to the referring physician and staff cardiologist as appropriate
·Screen requests for appropriateness of the location for the study to be performed (inpatient vs. outpatient)
·Utilize technique in obtaining tests and views appropriate to patient’s age, body size and target pathology
Salary range: $65.74-$65.74 Hourly
Qualifications
·At least 2 years of Pediatric sonography experience - required
·Ability to scan in appropriate fashion, depicting all views of areas consistent with appropriate diagnostic requirements for appropriate age of patient
·Ability to detect lethal diagnostic information that should be considered emergent and communicate with the appropriate entities
·Ability to push heavy equipment to do portable studies
·Ability to adhere to infection control initiatives as they pertain to the use of all equipment including TEE probes
·Ability to work as a team, taking and giving direction to other team members as appropriate
