The Clinical Nursing Manager is responsible for the management of clinical nursing practices and patient care delivery on the assigned unit(s). The role functions include management of human, fiscal, material, support and systems resources while achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department?s daily operations. The Clinical Nursing Manager role demonstrates a high level of integrity, willingness to take on new challenges and prioritizes associate engagement. This position consistently promotes a positive work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers. The Clinical Nursing Manager supports associate development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
Overall/ Daily tasks include:
Oversight to daily operations in the department
Oversight of operational efficiencies such as on-time starts and turnovers
Development of staff member to practice at the top of their license by providing growth opportunities
Communicate case changes to staff, support, and coach staff to build confidence and growth.
Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs/ practices for department associates.
Supporting staff to have the correct tools and resources to complete their job roles
Support positive growth in service lines
**Previous OR Experience required. Must be able to scrub and/or circulate across multiple services**
9 OR Suites-1 dedicated labor and delivery suite. Labor Delivery attends C-Sections
Approx. 20-30+ cases per Day
Schedule- Full Time- 40hrs/ week- Variable schedule per surgical volume and needs of unit- typically 5x8hrs.
No call required but may need to fill in on occasion to cover for team if need arises
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
3 years RN experience, required
1-year clinical leadership experience, required
High School GED required
A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN), required
Masters Degree preferred
Current RN License to practice in state of employment as applicable, required
BLS through the American Heart Association
Must sit for appropriate board certification within six months of hire or transfer into the role. Certification must be passed/obtained within two years of hire or transfer into the role.
Clinical and/or Leadership certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
Credential: Nursing Specific- ANCC Approved
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

The Surgery department at Mercy Regional Medical Center is a Level III operating room that treats spine, ortho, ENT, GYN patients, a few eye surgeries, some dental, plastics and a mix of general surgical procedures. We have seven ORs with two dedicated to outpatient cases and are strictly surgical for patients one year old and above. We provide care to the Four Corners region and see patients from all over, including occasional trauma. Our department is service oriented, and we care for one another so we all can have a great quality of life and a safe work environment. To be part of this team, individuals must have strong OR skills, be honest, punctual, reliable and have a sense that every day they put their best foot forward for their community and patients.
"Call is required for every part time and full-time position. Each team member covers approximately 5 call shifts every 6 weeks. On call hours are from 2100-0700 on Weeknights, and 0700-1900, 1900-0700 on Weekends. Response time for call is 30 minutes, and we do have sleep rooms for on call associates in house. We also require holiday call coverage throughout the year that is assigned six months in advance on a rotating schedule. 2 Years of Operating Room circulating experience preferred.
