Lee Health is a non-profit organization with more than 16,000 employees, 4,500 volunteers, and more than 1,200 employed primary care and specialty care providers with nearly 90 practice locations throughout Southwest Florida. The organization has four acute care hospitals and two specialty hospitals that together house 1,812 hospital beds.
Position Information:
LPG - Neurohospitalist is seeking a full time physician board eligible/board certified in neurology to join their busy practice. This service covers Lee Healths acute care hospitals and works collaboratively with the Neurology outpatient clinic to achieve high quality care for the community. This position will work 7 days on and 7 days off inpatient with opportunity for additional work in outpatient on off weeks. Candidates for this position will be interested in doing general neurology and acute stroke care.

Hospital Summary:
Gulf Coast Medical Center is a 699 bed acute care facility that is centrally located in Fort Myers FL. Gulf Coast Medical Center houses the Neuroscience Institute, orthopedic services, and general surgery. The hospital offers 24/7 access to emergency care and minimally invasive catheter procedures to treat stroke, as well as a dedicated neuroscience intensive care unit. GCMC is a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center with 2 certified Primary Stroke Centers at Cape Coral Hospital and Lee Memorial Hospital. GCMCs census is split between 1 or 2 other neurohospitalists plus a team of 3-5 APPs. 10-15 new consults per day with 5-8 follow-ups. Average daily census for the entire service line is approx. 30-50 patients.
Lee Health has the areas only Level II Trauma Center and DNV Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. Lee Memorial Hospital is a 362 bed Level II Trauma Center serving Lee County and the surrounding areas, 24/7 ER with exceptionally trained staff, and houses the Rehabilitation Hospital. Lee Memorial typically averages 4-8 new consults per day with maybe 3-4 follow-ups depending on how one manages their lists. A mainstay in our community for more than 100 years, Lee Memorial has a rich history of serving our communities.
