The Principal Coordinator for the Family Medicine clerkship, in collaboration with the clerkship chair, is responsible for the administrative management of the clerkship across all affiliate sites during this required educational experience for 2nd year medical students at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. In partnership with the clerkship chair, the Principal Coordinator maintains accreditation standards and serves as a liaison between medical students, dean’s office staff, and faculty and staff at multiple affiliate campuses. The Principal Coordinator may also serve as site coordinator for clerkship activities for UCLA-based students.
The Principal Coordinator supports, develops, initiates and/or directs a wide range of programmatic activities including but not limited to: long- and short-term curricular planning, project management, coordinating orientation activities during required intersession, policy oversight, effective communication with faculty, learners, and university staff, and internal and external program relations. You will support learners in areas such as curriculum, teaching and learning activities, scheduling, assessment, and evaluations.
Salary Range: $32.76 - $49.65/Hourly
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
- 1+ years experience coordinating an educational program(s) in an academic medical center or other relevant experience.
- Proficient with or ability to quickly learn Microsoft Office programs, and dean’s office database management programs and web based applications.
- Presents and expresses ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or written. Actively listens to what others are saying to achieve understanding. Shares information with others and facilitates the open exchange of ideas and information.
- Ability to manage confidential information discreetly and responsibly; ability to follow FERPA regulations.
