Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am-4:30pm or 4- day compressed tour opportunities.
Practice Environment: Outpatient and Inpatient Settings.
Call Coverage: 1:12 weeks. UC Irvine residents provide after-hours preliminary reads and pager coverage, and National Teleradiology Program (NTP) covers after-hours final reads for emergent/ inpatient studies. The radiology attending is on back-up call.
Academic Affiliations: University of California, Irvine. Academic appointment with resident teaching opportunities. Responsibilities will also encompass participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and the education of diagnostic radiology residents from the University of California, Irvine.
Qualifications:
- Completed Residency Training.
- Board Eligible/ Board Certified with a current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any state or U.S. territory.
- S. Citizenship.
- Preferred Experience and Additional Requirements: Body fellowship training with a specialization in body MRI. The ideal candidate for this position will possess fellowship training in advanced body MRI and demonstrate expertise in interpreting prostate and liver MRI. Additionally, proficiency in reading low-dose CT scans for our established Lung Cancer Screening Program is essential.
Comprehensive benefits packages, we offer the following:
- Competitive starting annual salary: $350,000-$400,000. Additionally, employees may be eligible to receive up to $15,000 in performance-based pay annually. Furthermore, employees can qualify for Proficiency Awards, which are available in addition to Pay for Performance incentives. Regular salary reviews will occur every two years, and all employees will receive cost-of-living adjustments annually.
- Education Debt Reduction Program Eligible: Reimbursement Program that repays qualifying student loan debt up to $200,000 tax-free for up to five years, or service periods, for individuals in patient care positions designated* as extremely difficult for recruitment and retention by local facilities.
- Continuing education: As a VA physician, you can earn CME credits at no cost. You can receive $1,000 or more annually and five days of paid absences to attend CME courses (conditions apply).
- Paid Time Off: You will receive 208 hours or approximately 26 days of annual leave a year. Unlimited accumulation of paid sick time and 11 paid federal holidays will begin accruing upon entry.
- Liability Protection: VA physicians are covered under federal tort laws and may be defended by the United States against allegations of malpractice or negligence.
- Health Insurance: With Federal Employees Health Benefits, choose from a variety of self or family preferred provider or health maintenance organizations.
- Dental and Vision Insurance: Under the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program, supplemental dental and/or vision benefits are available to you and your family.
