Additional Preferred Requirements
- Cardiac or Critical Care/ICU Experience Preferred
- Adult Acute Care NP Licensure or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP Licensure Preferred
- APP to work collaboratively with Cardiac Surgery Team/Cardiac Surgeons.
- Responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive perioperative care of patients with adult and congenital cardiac diseases
- Participation in quality improvement initiatives including departmental initiatives and multidisciplinary treatment conferences.

Role Purpose
The nurse practitioner functions within their scope of practice as a healthcare provider, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to patients and families across practice settings. They demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses commonly encountered within the inpatient setting. The nurse practitioner demonstrates an advanced level of clinical knowledge, communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and systems-based practice. They work with administration staff, nurses, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other staff to assure safe, effective, quality patient care.Minimum Board Certification(s):BJH: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP- with appropriate experience)Preferred Board Certification(s): BJH: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
