The Senior Behavioral Health Social Worker, is responsible for directing and managing an effective clinical service delivery system using applicable principles of Social Work including patient psychosocial assessment, group and individual psychotherapy, family intervention, patient/family education and treatment planning. Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of social services furnished to the patient population.
Watertown Regional Medical Center?s Senior Behavioral Health Unit (SBHU) provides individualized care for senior adults who are suffering from acute symptoms associated with a major mental health illness. This could include clinical depression, anxiety disorders, psychiatric and medical issues related to dementia, acute psychosis and altered mental state or bi-polar illness. The 15-bed unit provides a confidential and supportive atmosphere, where patients receive care that is individualized to their needs. Because we are a hospital-based facility, we can manage complex patients who may be dealing with chronic medical conditions as well as mental health conditions. We work with the patient, family and other health professionals to develop a course of treatment that best meets the needs of the individual. Qualifications
Master's Degree in Social Work required. Current license by the State of Wisconsin as a Clinical Social Worker (CSW)
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum Work Experience
3000 supervised clinical hours as certified by letter from State of Wisconsin Department of Health & Family Services.
