We are seeking a Staff Educator at Barnes Jewish West County to join our team and lead educational efforts on our Medical -Surgical units. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs to enhance the clinical skills and knowledge of our staff. The Staff Educator must maintain flexibility in work hours to accommodate varying schedules and training needs; Create engaging and informative presentations using PowerPoint and other tools; Act as a mentor and leader, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development; Take initiative to identify and meet educational needs.
Overview
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.
The Department of Professional Practice oversees the initial and ongoing educational training for the nursing staff. Much of the work involve maintaining nursing competencies, the development of nursing policies and procedures, and oversight of the Professional Nurse Development Program. (PNDP) and students coming into the hospital for clinical practicums.

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates ongoing educational and professional development activities and programs for clinical and non-clinical areas.
Collaborates with staff and representatives of other organizations to develop, present and or evaluate clinically focused training, continuing education and or professional development opportunities.
Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
Collaborates with leadership to assess the educational needs of the staff and develops appropriate education plan.
Participates in professional development and life long learning.
