Spartanburg Medical Center – Center for Rehabilitative Medicine located in Spartanburg, SC is searching for a BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join our interdisciplinary team of providers, serving our Inpatient Rehab Facility (IRF). The IRF is a CARF accredited 18 bed unit located at Spartanburg Medical Center - Mary Black Campus. We offer comprehensive rehab services for patients who suffer from neurological, orthopedic, multiple trauma and other debilitating conditions. Our mission is to provide quality rehabilitation services to individuals faced with the challenges of a disabling conditions so they may return to their homes and community to live as happily, productively and independently as possible. This approach includes patients, families and team of professionals working together.
Highlights of the position include:
Comprehensive Interdisciplinary team comprised of PT, OT, SLP, Rehab RN and Case Management professionals
Support from a dedicated network of more than 600 family physicians and specialist in more than 100 offices throughout Spartanburg, Union and Cherokee counties.
Located within SMC – Mary Black Campus, providing a hospital within a hospital atmosphere
Radiology, lab and additional services are readily available
Epic EMR
Daily care of all admitted patients to include meeting the requirements for IRF Regulations. (All patients receive an H&P within 24 hours of admission and a minimum of 3 face to face rehab physician visits (excluding the H&P), every 7 days. This may include the DC Summary.
Medical management of all patients on the unit with the goal of limiting avoidable returns to the acute care hospital, unnecessary consultations, minimizing HAI, etc.
Serving as co-Medical Director of Rehabilitative Medicine on your week of service to include:
20 documented hours on the unit which may be concurrent with patient care
Attending and facilitating Team Meeting twice weekly
Timely response to Post-Acute Navigators for approving patient admissions and signing the Pre-Admission Assessments in the UDS system
Remaining available to respond to Unit needs by telephone/computer after leaving the unit for the day and covering after hours “call” during your week on duty
