BJC HealthCare System is hiring a PRN Medical Laboratory Scientist (MT/MLS) II for Microbiology dept at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, 3015 N. Ballas Rd, St. Louis, MO, 63131
Position Details:
- PRN – As needed - flexible, 8s, 10s, 12s hour shift options
- Weekend availability needed
- Vitek, Bruker, Kiestra, Biofire, Cepheid
- Setting up rapid testing, PCR, running quality control, reading culture plates, performing mass spec identification, performing susceptibility testing
Experience:
- Lab experience (preferred)
- Microbiology experience (preferred)
- Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical / Life Sciences or related field
- 2 years or more of experience
- ASCP, AMT, AAB or equivalent

Role Purpose
The Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required. Demonstrates good clinical laboratory practice
