The role you’ll contribute:
Responsible for scheduling patient appointments for all physician services and all clinics of the facility. Arranges for patient access by timely notification and filling of appointments. Assists in coordinating the activities between scheduling, insurance verification and pre-certification. Acts as a patient liaison with physician practices regarding pre-visit services. This position is the liaison for communication between the patient and physician offices. Performs customer service functions in the medical office setting, by ensuring accuracy of patient information and insurance coverage. Understands payment methods, communicates fee requirements. Ensures highest level of customer service is provided to the patients and their families. Performs business office responsibilities. Ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patient and enters information required, into computer database. Ensures that any chart/reports are organized and available for patient appointments. Seeks patient feedback to ensure satisfaction and schedules follow up appointments. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities. Performs other secretarial/clerical duties as needed.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
·Responsible for setting the tone as the initial patient contact from RMH, as the liaison for communication between the patient and physicians.
·Responsible for scheduling appointments from a physician’s office and pre-admitting these patients.
·Responsible for accurately preregistering patients for scheduled office appointments. Which may include reminder calls.
·Obtains patient demographic information and insurance information from new patients and enters into the computer.
·Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated. Organization and management of the scheduling functions.
·Provides patients with information about the specific department, directions to the department, parking. Orders applicable services, i.e., wheel chairs, interpreters, prior to patient arrival.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
·High School or GED
·MUST have previous work experience with the public sector
Preferred qualifications:
·1 Year of Medical terminology
