The role you’ll contribute:
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Primary responsibility is the provision of distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, pharmacy billing and customer service, and regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. Accurately responds to prescription dispensing requests, coordinates medication access and adherence, prepares medications for pharmacist review/check, performs claim adjudication and processes customer (patient) account reconciliation.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Operates and maintains pharmacy automation dispensing system used to prepare and dispense pharmaceuticals according to pharmacy processes. Performs minor mechanical and systems troubleshooting tasks and daily cleaning of equipment.
Replenishes medication canisters according to pharmacy processes, documenting quantity added, LOT #, and expiration date of all medications scanned into the automated machine.
Prepares medications in assigned manual pick area, following stated medication filling guidelines including scanning correct drug and labels. Keeps filling errors to a minimum and works with pharmacy buyers on any inventory discrepancies.
Performs daily inventory receiving activities, restocking of drug shelves, rotating stock accordingly and placing drugs in appropriate assigned areas.
Responsible for monthly medication date checks, ensuring that all drugs in active inventory are within pharmacy's established product expiration date range; works with pharmacy buyers on any reverse distribution items, if applicable.
Packs prescription orders according to medication packing policy to assure no damage during shipping and the integrity of the medication is maintained. Completes shipping process ensuring correct medication, member address, and paperwork at all times.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School degree or Equivalent
One year of pharmacy technician experience, in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill, or hospital settingORcompletion of a pharmacy technician student internship at AdventHealth in a retail or hospital setting, in lieu of pharmacy technician experience.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Florida Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) license; must complete state required continuing education requirements
