Summary

The Behavior Health and Sciences Social Worker (Program Coordinator) practices in the Behavioral Health clinical setting to provide mental health services as the licensed clinical social worker. They will manage and have full programmatic - clinical - administrative and oversight of both programs (Inpatient MH Unit and Suicide Prevention Coordination) and respective complex operations of their interdisciplinary staff as well as supervisory oversight of staff members.

Duties

• Manage and have full programmatic - clinical - administrative and oversight of both programs (Inpatient MH Unit and Suicide Prevention Coordination) and respective complex operations of their interdisciplinary staff as well as supervisory oversight of respective staff members
• Serve as the primary Mental Health Treatment Coordinator - case/care manager and psychotherapist to a patient population with highly complex health and mental health problems
• Teach and mentor staff and students/trainees in the special area of practice and to provide oversight for licensure or specialty certifications
• Work within an interdisciplinary team to provide services ensuring Veterans timely access to mental health and psychosocial services
• Consult colleagues and students on the psychosocial treatment of patients treated in this specialty areas - rendering professional opinions based on experience and expertise and role modeling effective social work practice skills
• Manage budgets and control points associated with program operations that includes budget analysis and projections of funding needs
• Plan - schedule - and coordinate program operations and ensures necessary supplies and equipment is available to maintain operations
• Provide direct care and perform specialized treatment of complex physical and mental illness for Veterans in the Behavioral Health clinical settings at Lebanon or its Community Based Outpatient Clinics - or within the Primary Care setting
• Incorporates complex multiple causation in treatment of Veteran patients - including making psychosocial assessments - providing case management - and providing psychotherapy within approved scope of practice
• Triage - evaluate and psychosocial assessment - treatment planning - and coordination of care for patients in the program - functioning as the Primary Mental Health Treatment Coordinator Provide individual and group psychotherapy
• consultation with other program areas and staff as appropriate

• When setting pay - a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade)
• Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave - 13 days of sick leave - 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment - up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth - adoption - or foster care placement of a child
