The Inova Schar Cancer Institute is seeking an outstanding candidate for our Benign Hematology program. The successful candidate would join a growing group of 24 specialized Hematologists and Medical Oncologists at the ISCI, which is located in the Northern VA suburbs of Washington, D.C. The physician will care for patients with hematologic disorders, delivering coordinated, multispecialty care to patients with non-malignant diseases, in the outpatient and inpatient settings. This opportunity features the best from both the academic and private practice environments. Benign Hematologist Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with non-malignant hematologic disorders in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hematologists, medical oncologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Participate in clinical and translational research initiatives, including industry-sponsored, NCI, and investigator-initiated clinical trials.
- Engage in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Contribute to advancing clinical, genomic, and translational research within the Inova Schar Cancer Institute.
- Utilize the state-of-the-art facilities, including a 60-chair infusion unit and advanced radiation oncology services, to provide optimal patient care.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in benign hematology and integrate best practices into patient treatment plans.
- Support the mission of the Inova Schar Cancer Institute by actively participating in institutional initiatives and quality improvement programs.
- Work collaboratively within a well-established, non-profit health system that balances academic and private practice medicine.
Additional Requirements:
- Work schedule: Day shift
- Licensure - Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia
- Experience - Successful completion of physician residency and fellowship program
- Education - Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution
