The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Service line at the Northwell Health’s South Shore University Hospital is seeking an experienced full-time Intensivist to join our team in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
South Shore University Hospital is the eastern most Long Island tertiary hospital for Northwell Health. Located 30 miles east of NYC on the south shore of Long Island. This 305-bed hospital is rapidly growing and focus with plans to potentially expand to over four hundred beds. The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit is a 10-bed ICU unit with an additional 4 Stepdown beds. The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery service line performs 600 cardiac related surgeries per year from open procedures, transcatheter based therapies, ECMO, and LV support for high-risk PCI.
Candidates must be fellowship trained, and Board Certified in Critical Care or Thoracic Surgery. Primary board certifications can include Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, or General Surgery. Candidates graduating from their sub-specialty training will also be considered depending upon CTICU experience during fellowship training. The ideal candidate should also carry exceptional inter-personal skills with a goal of sharing a vision of unparalleled delivery of care through teamwork, collaboration, innovation, and persistence for excellence.
