The role you’ll contribute:
The Director of Institute Service Lines of the Institute provides management and leadership to the entire continuum, serving as an expert resource to all AdventHealth Acute Care Services and Integrated Health Services, as it relates to the disease-specific service lines. they oversee (Example: Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Cardiovascular, Orthopedic, Neuroscience, etc.). This position reports directly to the Executive Director for the Digestive Health Institute. The Director works closely with the other system Institutes (Cancer, Cardiovascular, Neuroscience, Orthopedics, and Transplant) as well as with Senior Institute leadership to execute DHI strategic plans and plays an integral role in providing the tools and information needed to make strategic decisions.The scope of oversight is division-wide with partnership opportunities beyond division boundaries, while creating partnerships and alignment of 6 service lines within Digestive Health Institute.
The Director has the expectation to lead key initiatives that cross multiple service lines including developing operational and resource requirements for new programs or opportunities and implementing mechanism to monitor performance on all DHI initiatives.The Director of Institute Service Lines acts as a formal and informal mentor to other leaders within the programs. They take on institute-wide initiatives which stretch their growth and support multiple service lines.
The Director of Institute Service Lines will serve as the definitive resource for service line needs within Central Florida Division and be a resource for all AdventHealth statewide and nationwide. Works within a matrix management environment, working closely with Institute Leadership, Medical Staff, Industry Partners, and multidisciplinary teams to elevate performance of the program.
The Director of Institute Service Lines will manage strategic planning, operational planning, program development, project deployment, accelerate innovation, and promote quality and safety in order to elevate the brand promise of AdventHealth. This will aid in attracting and retaining world class physicians, creating destination programs to improve care delivery and expand the network.
The Director of Institute Service Lines oversees projects made up of interdisciplinary teams and is ultimately responsible for coordinated performance improvement throughout the entire AdventHealth system. Individual service lines contain one or more specialty programs to address and elevate the entire continuum of care for patients using evidence-based practice. The Director of Institute Service Lines drive a team who is responsible for the execution on specialty program deliverables, service line initiatives, and organizational transformation by helping to identify gaps and remove barriers. Responsible for developing business plans or proformas that relate to specific new programs or market opportunities. Develops operational and resource requirements for new programs or opportunities and collaborates with others to successfully implement and monitor performance. The director provides adequate cross-checks for data accuracy and timely delivery of critical key performance metrics including financials, quality databases, strategic planning, regulatory requirements, and operational deployment of initiatives. The collective group of programs within each downward service line report up through a manager to the director. They have oversight and responsibility for multiple services lines and specialty programs related to the service line in a matrix management environment including service line managers, disease-specific specialty program coordinators, patient navigators, clinical resource nursing, education resources, residency coordinators, fellowship coordinators, data and quality abstractors, research professionals, marketing, and other integrated roles. National and international travel is expected to achieve understanding and enhance AdventHealth brand recognition on behalf of the program. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Divisional leadership oversight of service line, initiatives, staff.
Collaborates with regional and multistate Advent Health Acute Care Services (ACS) and Integrated Health Services (IHS) to standardize care and develop destination care programs.
Collaboration with Private and Employed physicians to advance institute initiatives
Provides consultative services to AHS Division hospitals as requested.
Leverages the CIN to deliver clinical value, quality, and safety
Travel nationally and internationally to conferences and other facilities to gain deeper understanding of institute programs.
Directs multiple service lines, with disease-specific specialty programs, symposiums, Academic and Center of Excellence Programs, (to include case observations, continuing medical education events, and physician grand rounds), wet lab courses, cases, tours, etc., by working with the course medical leadership and downline managers to develop curriculum, put in grant requests to pay for events, markets events, and troubleshoots.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Nursing, or Healthcare related field
Three (3) years of healthcare leadership experience
Five (5) years of experience in the healthcare, hospital, or physician private practice field
Multi-specialty exposure experience
Nursing or other Healthcare Related Licensure
