**The Student Nurse Internship is a fully paid, 8-week summer internship at one of the UChicago Medicine AdventHealth hospitals. This includes locations in Hinsdale, La Grange, Bolingbrook, and Glendale Heights.

Start Date: June 2, 2025

Successful Student Nurse Interns will have the opportunity to continue employment with UChicago Medicine AdventHealth and have access to early Nurse Residency offers.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Student Nurse Intern (SNI) is one who assists the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care by performing specific tasks under the direction of an RN to identified age specific groups. The SNI will work three 12-hour shifts per week during this eight-week internship, working directly with an RN.  Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Currently enrolled in an accredited BSN nursing program and entering final year of college.

Students must graduate between December 2025 and May 2026.

Students must have completed at least one medical surgical clinical rotation and be entering their final year in nursing curriculum.

Current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification is required.

Evaluations of performance from nursing school.

Maintains a minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 and remains in good standing in the program.
