Meharry Medical College seeks a mission-oriented, inspiring, innovative, academic leader to serve as the new Vice President of Faculty Affairs. Reporting to Provost Jeannette South-Paul, M.D., DHL(Hon), FAAFP the Vice President of Faculty Affairs (VPFA) is a tenure stream faculty member in a relevant focus area and holds a senior leadership position within the College. The VPFA is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of faculty engagement, appointments, professional development, faculty evaluation and support. This role is critical in fostering a collaborative and inclusive academic environment that supports the institution’s mission of excellence in education, research, clinical care, and health policy.
Meharry’s is nationally recognized for its commitment to developing a broad and diverse healthcare workforce, cutting edge research in cardiometabolic diseases, genomics and infectious disease, solving health and clinical dilemmas through data analytics, health policy analysis, and community-engaged research and delivering care to everyone especially the medical underserved. This legacy has resulted in noteworthy philanthropic gifts during the past two years that have allowed the College to launch exciting new programs and grow its educational and scientific footprint.

Education and Experience
Minimum qualifications for the position are a doctoral degree in a relevant field
Eligible for an Academic Appointment as an Associate or Full Professor in the tenure stream
Ten or more years of leadership and management experience in Faculty Affairs or other relevant administrative experience in higher education focusing on health and biomedical sciences and the STEM fields.
